
UB Women's Basketball to Play in Miami (FL) Thanksgiving Tournament

Buffalo at Miami (FL) Thanksgiving Tournament Game Notes
CORAL GABLES, FL – The State University of New York, Buffalo women's basketball team will play a pair of non-conference games at the Miami (FL) Thanksgiving Tournament. The Bulls (2-2) will face Tulsa (2-2) on Friday at 3 pm before playing either the host Hurricanes (2-2) at 1 pm Saturday or Illinois State (0-4) at 3 pm.
In the midst of a four-game road stretch, the Bulls are coming off an 88-54 setback at No. 7/8 Duke Tuesday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium. UB battled in the first half, holding the Blue Devils to a season-low 36 first-half points, and trailed by 11 at intermission. UB forced Duke to commit 12 first-frame turnovers and 20 for the game. The host Blue Devils used an 8-0 run to open the latter half which they built upon for an indefinite 20-point gap.
UB is led by junior Mackenzie Loesing's 16.0 points per game. Sophomore Alexus Malone adds a Bull-best 11.3 rebounds and 11.5 points to average a double-double. Classmate Camera Miley, who posted a career-high 15 points against the Blue Devils, is averaging 11.3 points per contest. Loesing has 10 steals on the season and senior Kristen Sharkey adds nine. Malone has dished out 10 assists and Miley nine. The Bulls are shooting 31.1 percent from the floor and 71.1 percent at the line over the course of four games.
UB faced Tulsa once, falling to the Golden Hurricane 64-39 at the Texas-San Antonio Tournament on Dec. 31, 2005. UB has never played Miami (FL) or Illinois State.
