
Bulls to Battle Eighth-Ranked Duke Tuesday at Cameron Indoor Stadium

DURHAM, NC – The State University of New York, Buffalo women's basketball team will face eighth-ranked Duke on Tuesday at 6:30 pm at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Bulls (2-1) will take on the Blue Devils (3-0) for the first time in program history.
UB is fresh off back-to-back wins over Saint Francis (PA), 88-80, and Niagara, 73-64. UB posted six double-doubles over the course of their victories, while outrebounding opponents, 129-91. The Bulls and their opponents are each have a field goal percentage of 33.2.
Junior Mackenzie Loesing, who tallied her 900th career point in the Bulls' victory over the Purple Eagles Saturday, paces the UB offense with 19.0 points per game. Redshirt-sophomore Rachael Gregory is averaging 11.7 points and 8.7 boards, while sophomore Alexus Malone chips in a double-double average of 10.7 points and 13.3 rebounds. Named the inaugural Big 4 Player of the Week Monday, Malone grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds to go with 15 points against NU. The 17 boards rank tied for eighth-most single-game rebounds in program history. Loesing has a Bull-best nine steals and Malone a team-high nine assists.
The eighth-ranked Blue Devils won their home opener Sunday against Marquette, 83-51, after claiming a pair of road victories at Alabama and Old Dominion to open 2014-15. Duke, who has secured 133 straight home game victories against unranked opponents, hosts the Bulls in their second game of a three-game homestand.
The Blue Devils are shooting 50.3 percent from the floor, with four players hitting 60.0 percent or better, and outrebounding opponents, 155-85. With four averaging double-digit point performances, Elizabeth Williams leads the way with 17.0 and Rebecca Greenwell chips in 16.3. Both near a double-double average with 9.0 and 9.3 rebounds, respectively. Oderah Chidom adds 12.3 points per contest and Azura Stevens 10.0 to go with 7.3 rebounds. Ka'lia Johnson paces the Duke offense with 21 assists. Greenwell has 10 steals and 10 assists in three games.
