Buffalo vs. Saint Francis (PA) Game Notes
LORETTO, PA – The State University of New York, Buffalo women's basketball team travels to Saint Francis (PA) for a 7 pm non-conference road contest on Tuesday. The Bulls and Red Flash are both looking to pick up their first wins of the season. UB dropped a 58-50 decision to Siena in its season opener Friday, while SFU traveled to Ohio State where it suffered a 113-97 loss Sunday.
Live stats, a live webcast and a live radio broadcast will be available.
The teams meet for the fifth time since the inaugural game on Jan. 2, 1992. The Bulls own a flawless 4-0 series record, most recently defeating Saint Francis, 87-77 on Dec. 4, 2013.
The Bulls were held scoreless over the final five minutes of play against Siena, while the Saints pieced together a 15-0 streak to seal the season-opening victory. Senior Christa Baccas posted six blocks on the night to go with six points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Alexus Malone led UB on the boards, pulling down 10. Junior Mackenzie Loesing had a Bull-best 13 points with redshirt-sophomore Rachael Gregory chipping in 12 in her return to the hardwood.
The Red Flash return home to play their first of three consecutive home games at DeGol Arena. SFU never led against the Buckeyes, but offensive rebounding and spurts of hot shooting kept the Flash within striking distance. OSU held just a 57-55 lead at halftime. Alexa Hayward led SFU with 35 points, while three others scored into double figures. The 113-97 loss at Ohio State marked the highest combined men's or women's score ever recorded in Value City Arena's history.
