Complete Buffalo vs. South Dakota St. Game Notes
BUFFALO, NY - The second year of the Bobby Hurley gets underway tonight as the Bulls host South Dakota State after the meeting between the two schools in January was postponed due to weather.
The Bulls won their exhibition opener as seven new players saw action for UB. Senior Will Regan led the Bulls in scoring with 16 points, one of four players in double figures. Regan is UB's leading returning scorer and rebounder from last season. Sophomore Shannon Evans returns after a freshman season where he was named to the Kyle Macy Freshman All-America Team.
South Dakota State won both of its exhibition games including a 79-72 win over Dakota Wesleyan. Cody Larson is the leading returning scorer and rebounder at 13.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Probable starters Jake Bittle and Connor Devine also have experience from last season.
South Dakota State leads the all-time series, 1-0, having won 86-65 back during the 2012 season as part of the ESPN BracketBuster series.
Tickets are still available by calling 1-877-UB-THERE. Fans who aren't able to make it to Alumni Arena can listen in on ESPN 1520 AM, with Josh Whetzel on the call.
