BUFFALO, NY -- The University at Buffalo women's rowing squad will head to Fairfax Station, VA to compete in the 2013 CAA Rowing Conference Championships on Sunday, May 19. The event will take place in Sandy Run Regional Park.
The CAA consists of six schools, Boston University, Buffalo, Delaware, Drexel, Eastern Michigan and Northeastern, which will all send boats out onto the water at 9:30 am. The championships will feature a varsity four, second varsity eight and varsity eight races.
The Bulls look to defend their gold medal in the varsity four piece, as they took the competition last year by 0.1 second over Boston University.
"We're excited about the opportunity to race," said head coach Sandy Calfo, "We're hoping to show some speed as we head to CAA's".
UB looks to continue its success at CAA's as it won the championship in 2010, placed second in 2011 and took third last year.
