John-Martin Cannon Named to Academic All-MAC Team

BUFFALO, NY - For the third time in his illustrious career, senior wrestler John-Martin Cannon was named to the Mid-American Conference's All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference Wednesday. Voted on by faculty athletic representatives at MAC institutions, the team this season is comprised of 11 student-athletes.
Currently a member of the master's program in elementary education, Cannon carries a 3.835 grade point average. His accomplishments on the mat are as vast as his accomplishments on the mat, as he also had earned past honors by the NWCA and the SUNY Chancellor.
On the mat, the redshirt senior from Brockport, NY faced down adversity during the season and earned his third trip to the NCAA tournament in Des Moines, Iowa, where he won a pair of matches to lead the team. He ends his wrestling career at UB 15th in career wins (with 84) and tied for fourth in takedowns (135).
