Second Varsity Eight Wins Petite Final at Knecht Cup

CAMDEN, NJ -- The University at Buffalo women's rowing team concluded a successful weekend at the Knecht Cup Regatta with four boats competing in petite finals.
The second varsity eight lead the way for UB by clinching a victory in its petite final. The Bulls crossed the finish line with a time of 6:59.34 ahead of Old Diminion, Alabama, West Virginia, Dayton and North Carolina.
The varisty four took fourth in its petite final finishing with a time of 8:11.53 behind Drexel, New Hampshire and Drexel.
UB's novice eight had a strong showing on day two, taking second to Lehigh. The Bulls crossed the finishing line at a time of 7:19.66 ahead of Holy Cross, Kansas, Duquesne and UMass.
The last boat to compete for the Bulls, was the varsity eight. In its petite final, UB took third in the Bulls' closest race of the day finishing a mere three seconds behind first place Trinity. There was only a seven second difference difference between first and sixth place.
The Bulls return to action, Thursday, April 25, as the they head to Bucknell to take on the Bisons.
