
Buffalo Rowing Earns Boatload of Academic Honors

BUFFALO, NY - The Colonial Athletic Association announced its 2012 Commissioner's Academic Award for rowing, with 32 members of the Buffalo Bulls earning the award out of a roster of 57 student-athletes. As a team, the Bulls posted a cumulative grade point average of 3.24.
To qualify for the Commissioner's Academic Award, an athlete achieve at least a 3.200 grade point average based on semester/quarter performance or cumulative GPA.
Additionally, eight rowers earned a place on the prestigious Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) scholar athelete academic list for the 2012 season. In order to make that list, the rower needs to have rowed in her institution's NCAA or IRA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75% of the current spring races or racing in a regional conference event and have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher for her career.
