MOUNT PLEASANT, MI - The Bulls travel to Central Michigan on Wednesday night for the second of two straight Mid-American Conference road games. The Bulls are looking to win its seventh straight game after coming off a 72-65 comeback win at Toledo on Saturday night. The Bulls are aiming to win its first game at McGuirk Arena since the 2005-06 season.
Against the Rockets, UB trailed by nine at the half and as much as 13 midway through the second half before mounting a comeback thanks to memorable performances by a handful of great performances. The Bulls were led by Titus Robinson who came off the bench to score 14 points. Javon McCrea added 12 points and eight rebounds - all in the second half. UB's 50 rebounds against Toledo were the most against a MAC opponent in a regulation game since it pulled down 55 boards against Akron on March 5, 200. The win was the team's third straight on the road in conference action, and a win tonight against the Chips would set a program benchmark for most consecutive MAC road wins.
Central Michigan is 7-15 overall and 2-7 in the MAC and is coming off a 68-42 loss at Ohio on Saturday. The Chippewas are led by Trey Zeigler, who is averaging 15.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, and freshman standout Austin McBroom (10.6 points, 45 percent from three). Central Michigan leads the all-time series, 12-10 but the Bulls won the previous meeting, 64-50, in the first round of the MAC Tournament at Alumni Arena last season.
Fans can tune into a live video stream through the conference website MAC-Sports.com, and can also follow along at 1230 AM WECK with Josh Whetzel calling the game.
