Women's Rowing Continues Fall Season at Syracuse Invite

SYRACUSE, NY -- The University at Buffalo rowing team traveled to Central New York to race in the Syracuse Invite on the Seneca River. The Bulls competed against in-state foes Syracuse, Cornell and Colgate.
In the first varsity 4 flight of the day, the UB "A" boat took sixth with a time of 19:37.0. This boat consisted of coxswain Emily Glasgow, Rosa Kemp, Justine Bottorff, Veronika Kwinecki and Heide MacMahon. The varisty 4 "B" boat with coxswain Alyssa Porter, Melissa Ward, Deborah Garth, Shannon David and Sydney Gilchrist crossed the finish line right behind the "A" boat with a time of 19:39.7 for seventh place.
The Bulls finished strong in the second varisty 4 flight of the day as well. The "C" boat took fourth place with a time of 20:01.3. This boat was rowed by coxswain Emily Glasgow, Brittany Davidson, Danielle Carlino, Hannah Miller-Selzer and Kaitlyn Koscielniak. Coxswain Kara Buchheit, Alexa Shoiock, Samantha Paige, Hayley Franco and Jordyn Phillips of the varisty "D" boat took seventh place crossing the line at 20:54.3.
Both the varsity 8 and novice 8 competed in one heat with the varsity lightweight 8 taking third place with a time of 19:20.9. This boat was controlled by coxswain Christine Proulx, Margaret Lawn, Francisca Strange-Sepulveda, Raleigh Galbraith, Hanna Victor, Katie Coffin, Elizabeth Murphy, Cassandra Nicolia and Megan Klyczek. The varsity 8 boat with coxswain Katie Boniello, Stephanie Iannacchino, Mackenzie Turpin, Nicole Ciesielski, Bethany Cross, Jessica Levy, Sara-Ann Fox, Sarah Gallagher and Alyssa Gabel finished fourth at 19:21.9.
The novice 8 "A" boat finished sixth with a time of 20:16.9 with coxswain Marlee Rothschild, Erica Tenetromano, Clare Costello, Meghan O'Brien, Allyssa Cotten, Arielle Fleming, Colleen Patterson, Caroline Lodinsky and Elaine Slaven. The novice lightweight "B" boat took ninth crossing the line at 22:16.6. This boat consisted of Courtney Donovan, Kim Lourette, Taylor Hagenbuch, Sara Oliphant, Rachel Casaceli, Johanna Demey-Zambrano, Maya Barnard, Quaneisha Ivey, Kristen Molina.
The Bulls return to the water Saturday, November 10, as they head to Boston for the Foot of the Charles Regatta.
