BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo baseball team finished its three-game series with Ohio on Sunday afternoon with a 6-4 loss to the Bobcats at Amherst Audubon Field. The Bulls (11-32, 2-18 MAC) had tied the game in both the fifth and eight innings before surrendering the go-ahead runs in the ninth inning.

After spotting Ohio (22-25, 7-13 MAC) a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning, the Bulls got on the scoreboard with a two-run home run from Eric Bryce and a sacrifice fly from Tom Murphy to tie the game at 3-3.

The Bobcats took a 4-3 lead in the eighth inning after a leadoff triple by Kory Burkhart and Bryan Barnes' sacrifice fly off UB starter Cameron Copping. After Copping allowed runners to reach first and second, Jesse Reinstein was summoned from the bullpen where he got Taylor Emody to ground out to end the threat.

UB tied the game in the bottom of the inning as Murphy led off with a base hit to left. Two outs later, Murphy scored from third on Jordan Camp's RBI single, knotting the contest at 4-4. With the go-ahead run now at first, Bryce put a charge into the ball, trying for his second home run of the day. However the wind held the ball in the park with Burkhart, the Ohio left fielder, recording the putout.

Ohio loaded the bases on Reinstein in the ninth on a walk and a pair of singles. Barnes brought home pinch runner J.R. Reynolds with the eventual game-winning run on a bases loaded walk. Ohio added an insurance run on a RBI groundout.

Reinstein (0-2) took the loss on the mound for the Bulls. Ohio reliever Ryan Burgett pitched 4.2 innings to claim the win. Bryce, Murphy and Jordan Camp each had two hits for the Bulls.

The Bulls host LeMoyne Monday afternoon for a doubleheader at Amherst Audubon Field. First pitch for slated for 3:00 pm.
