BUFFALO, NY – Head coach Linda Hill-MacDonald has announced the addition of three players, who have all signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Bulls next year. The class is comprised of Rachael Gregory, Mackenzie Loesing and Karin Moss.
"We are pleased to have each of these young ladies join our program," said Hill-MacDonald. "They not only compliment each other well with their skill set, but they also compliment the players that we have coming back next season."
Gregory comes to UB from Indianapolis, IN, where she plays at North Central High School. Last season, Gregory averaged 13.3 ppg, 10.2 rpg and 4.8 steals per game, earning Division I All-District First Team honors. She was also named to the Indiana Gazette First Team and named a first-team USJN All-Star. In addition to being a standout basketball player, Gregory is also one of the top sprinters in Indiana. She is also strong academically, hoping to major in civil/medical engineering at Buffalo.
"Rachael is a very athletic, mobile and versatile player," said Hill-MacDonald. "She played in the post in high school, but we think she can play the three for us here at Buffalo. Her academic standing is very important to us as we are looking for players who can represent us well not only on the court, but also in the classroom."
Loesing is from Norwood, OH, a suburb of Cincinnati. She plays for Saint Ursula Academy where last season she averaged 18.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg and 2.7 apg. Another first-team USJN All-Star, Loesing was named the Catholic League Conference Player of the Year, first-team All-Cincinnati and honorable mention All-State. Like Gregory, Loesing is a strong academic student looking to pursue a career in the medical field.
"Mackenzie has good size to her and is a very versatile guard," said Hill-MacDonald. "She can shoot the three from extremely long range and she plays fantastic off-ball defense. She is a very exciting player to watch and will be a great addition this program."
Moss is a point guard from Troy, MI where she plays at Troy High School. Last year, Moss averaged 13.9 ppg, 3.4 apg and 3.1 spg as she was named to the All-Oakland County First Team, the Division I All-District First Team and Detroit Press First Team. Moss is looking to major in either dentistry or pre law.
"Karin is a very quick and athletic point guard," said Hill-MacDonald. "She is a smart player and is a very strong on-ball defender. She makes good decisions on the court and knows how to set her teammates up for success."
