Bulls Return Home to Face Temple

BUFFALO, NY - After over a month away from the friendly confines of UB Stadium, the Bulls football team will look to go 2-1 in the MAC in a critical game against divisional rival Temple Saturday afternoon. After splitting the first two conference games during the team's road trip, Buffalo will have an opportunity to leap-frog the 2-1 Owls in a matchup that is slowly developing into one of the fiercest rivalries in the conference.
"I'd like to consider all games rivalry games because they all mean something in the outcome of the season," head coach Jeff Quinn said. "Does this game take on more meaning? You bet, because we need a win. I would love for us to establish a rivalry and this (Temple) might be the right program to do it with."
Senior safety Domonic Cook has seen his share of thrilling matchups with the Owls, and relishes the chance to have one more go around with Temple.
"Since I've been here, this game has been the most physical and emotional game I've been in," Cook said. "They talk a lot and they like to try and get in your head. Surely from their part they think this is a big game as well."
The Bulls have taken two out of the last three against Temple, but are looking to rebound from a 37-13 loss at Temple last season.
On offense, the Owls have a two-headed rushing attack, led by sophomore RB Matt Brown with 504 yards and six touchdowns on 91 carries. The team's main starter coming into the season, Bernard Pierce, suffered an early-season injury but is expected to play against the Bulls. Through the air, senior WR Michael Campbell is the top receiver with 312 yards and three touchdowns on 20 receptions. On defense, senior DB Jaiquawn Jarrett leads the defense with 58 tackles, including a team-high 33 solo takedowns.
The game will kick off at noon Saturday at UB Stadium and will be the team's homecoming game. Fans not able to make it to the game will be able to tune in to 1230 AM WECK or can watch on ESPN GamePlan (locally on WNYO).
