- Sure-handed in the infield and a tough out at the plate; Mike epitomized the UB baseball player of the 1970s.
- Ranked among the top 10 in batting among NCAA Division I players as a senior (.464), the 2nd highest UB average ever among players with a minimum of 75 at-bats.
- Named to the ECAC District 2 all-star team his final 2 campaigns; a 2nd teamer as a sophomore.
- Completed his career with a 4 year average of .367.
- When his career ended, no UB player had more hits, RBIs, scored more runs, played in more games or had more appearances at the plate.
- At the time of his induction, Mike is still UB's all-time career leader in walks (117) and on-base percentage (.508).
