- Michael was a significant contributor on the court for four years (15.4 point average), captain for three years and male student-athlete of the year as a senior.
- He was a two-time first-team Mid-Continent Conference selection (junior and senior years) after making the all-rookie team as a freshman; All-Mid-Con second teamer as a sophomore.
- He is the most prolific three-point shooter in the history of the men's program, Mike, at the time of his induction, held 9 UB career, single-season and game records - 6 of them from beyond the arc.
- Michael scored 1,708 points during his career (58% from three-point range) to rank third all-time upon his graduation; also he holds the UB single-game records in scoring (44 points) and three-pointers made (10).
- Along with Rasaun Young, Mike was named the eighth-best Division I backcourt in the nation by Athlon Sports in its preseason college basketball magazine (1997-98).
- Michael hit the game-winning three-pointer in OT that gave UB a 78-77 win over Niagara in the first college game ever in the Marine Midland Arena and the subsequent sweep of the three other WNY Division I programs that season.
