- Jane Poland coached what was one of the most successful sports programs in the history of women's athletics at UB. - In 3 years of competition in the National Collegiate Team Bowling Championships, the UB keglers were 2nd, 3rd, and 6th. From 1978 through the 1980 season, UB was never ranked lower than 6th, nationally, and the Bulls bowlers captured 1 national crown.

- Jane Poland's contributions to the advocacy of women's athletics didn't end with her tenure (1970-1980) as bowling coach. She also coached women's golf from 1971-1974.
