- Kostrinsky had the versatility and talent to participate in just about every woman's sport fielded by UB at the time; tennis, volleyball, and basketball.
- Doris is the winningest field hockey coach in Ithaca College history, with a 282-135-23 record over 27 seasons; her 1982 team captured the Division III NCAA championship.
- 11 of her final 13 teams participated in the NCAAs (with 1 team advancing to the championship game) and 6 squads won New York State titles.
- Doris coached 26 All-Americans and 11 academic All-Americans.
- Her Ithaca softball teams were 202-128-3, they won 3 New York State titles and made 3 NCAA appearances, while her 6 basketball teams were 43-16 and won a state title.
- An accomplished golfer, Doris spent 7 seasons as the Ithaca men's co-coach, she played in the 1972 U.S. Open and 1970 and 1975 U.S. Women's Amateur Championships.
