- The 1986 UB volleyball team, competing in Division III of the NCAA under Coach Bob Maxwell, won more matches (52) than any school's team in any NCAA division and finished 5th in national ranking.
- Barb, who played from 1984-1987, recorded 70 service aces during her junior campaign and accumulated 1,192 assists in helping UB advance to the NCAA Division III Championships.
- Barb recorded a UB-record 96 service aces in 1987, an average of .873 per game; both marks still stand.
- She still maintains the career marks for service aces (274) and aces per game (.569), her career assist record (3,848) was eclipsed 18 years later; she stands 5th in career assists per game (8.0) and 8th in solo blocks (84).
- Over the course of her career, the UB volleyball team compiled a record of 141-54-2 and only 2 players competed in more games than the 481 in which Barb represented UB.
