Hoof Prints: Versatile athlete who has played both defensive back and running back over his career... major is anthropology.
Sophomore (2015): Appeared in two games. Saw action against Albany (9/5) and Nevada (9/26).
Freshman (2014): Appeared in nine games as a reserve running back and on special teams... carried the ball five times for 18 yards on the season… had one carry for four yards against Baylor (9/12)… had four carries for 14 yards against Norfolk State (9/20).
High School: While playing for head coach Phil Zacharias at Mount Hebron, he was an All-State safety with 61 tackles, two interceptions, five pass breakups, and four fumble recoveries – three of which were returned for touchdowns. He was an accomplished running back as well, rushing for 310 yards in a single game and averaging 6.2 yards per carry with 20 catches. Nicholas was also the team’s return specialist, returning punts and kicks and has been recorded with a 4.5 40-yard dash. Zach made the Top 33 All-Star team in Maryland, and was named the Howard County Defensive Player of the Year.
