Hoof Prints: A versitle player who has excelled as both a running back and receiver for the Bulls... heading into 2015, ranks second in school history in career kick return yardage (1,541)... had a 96-yard kick return for a touchdown in 2013... chose UB because he honestly felt as though he belonged here and the experience and dedication of the entire coaching staff... major is social science interdisciplinary.
Junior (2014): Continued to excel on kick returns averaging 23.3 yards per return, including three returns of 42 yards or more… named to the All-MAC Second Team… was a dual-threat out of the backfield as he rushed for 161 yards on 33 carries and had 24 catches for 182 yards and four touchdowns on the season… had a season-high 61 yards rushing on nine carries against Miami (OH) (9/27)… had five catches for 47 yards a two touchdowns against Army (9/6)… had four catches against Eastern Michigan (10/11) and three receptions against Ohio (11/5)… had two catches, both for touchdowns, against Akron (11/11).
Sophomore (2013): Emerged as an asset in the return game along with out of the backfield in his second season… appeared in 11 games for the Bulls and led the MAC in kickoff return average (23.9)… he returned 28 kicks for 669 yards including a 96-yard kickoff return touchdown against Eastern Michigan (10/5)… was also a factor catching passes out of the backfield, ranking fourth on the team with 19 receptions and 200 receiving yards… also recorded two rushing touchdowns on 11 rushing attempts… was named National Kickoff Returner of The Week following his 96-yard kickoff return touchdown.
Freshman (2012): Emerged as one of the top true freshman in the conference, making an impact right away with 502 yards rushing, 176 yards receiving and three total touchdowns as an injury replacement... played in 11 games, making three starts... in his first career start, he rushed 30 times for 160 yards and a touchdown on the road at Ohio (10/6)... cracked the century mark again with 104 yards on 19 carries against Pittsburgh (10/20)... hauled in a short pass and took it 42 yards to the house for a score against Toledo (10/27)... came in as an injury replacement and led the team to a 29-24 win over Western Michigan, rushing 22 times for 107 yards and a season-long 45 touchdown run (11/10)... named the team’s Newcomer of the Year.
High School: An All-County, All League and All-Ohio selection who rushed for 1,230 yards (8.0 yards per carry) and added 34 receptions for 567 yards ... accounted for a total of 24 touchdowns ... three-year letterwinner ... qualified for the nationals in indoor track (New Balance Elite Qualifier) ... son of Brenda Shell and Ed Campbell.
