BUFFALO, NY – Nate Trawick has been hired as defensive line coach for the University at Buffalo football team, head coach Pete Lembo announced on Thursday. Trawick comes to Buffalo from Colgate where he served in the same role.
"I have known Nate since he was a high school player going through the recruiting process," Lembo said "I have enjoyed watching his young career progress, particularly since he landed nearby at Colgate. Nate is bright, articulate, has a strong work ethic, is a passionate teacher and is driven to continue developing as a coach. He is very familiar with our conference and our recruiting footprint. He is about the right stuff and will put our players and program first."
Trawick spent the past two seasons as defensive line coach at Colgate. In 2024, he helped coach the Raiders to their most tackles, tackles for loss and sacks since 2019. Defensive lineman Andrew Taddeo was an All-Patriot League First Team selection.
Prior to Colgate, Trawick had a short stint as defensive line coach at Gardner-Webb.

On the mat, he coached upper weight classes (182-285 pounds), organized and facilitated practices and lifts and guided student-athletes in match preparation including helping produce a 2019 state qualifier. On the gridiron, he worked as a defensive line coach and coordinated with the head coach on strategy and game planning.
No stranger to the Mid-American Conference, Trawick received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Miami (OH) in 2019. At Miami, he was a three-year starter on the RedHawks football team, earning MAC All-Academic honors in 2016. He was also a four-year member of the Track and Field Team.
He was a two-time All-State 5A competitor in football (2013-14) and Indiana Shot Put State Runner-Up in 2015 after qualifying for state in 2014.
