BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo linebacker Red Murdock has been named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Murdock had a game-high 16 tackles and a sack against Minnesota. The graduate linebacker made plays all over the field, including a fourth-and-short stop in the redzone to keep the game scoreless. The 16 tackles were the second most by any player in the country over the opening weekend.
A first-team All-MAC selection in 2024, this is the second time Murdock has been named MAC Defensive Player of the Week in his career.
Murdock and the Bulls will host Saint Francis in the home opener on Saturday at UB Stadium.
