Murdock Named All-American

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo linebacker Red Murdock has been named an All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, the Associated Press and the Football Writers Association of American (FWAA). The graduate linebacker was a second-team selection by all three organizations.
Murdock led the Mid-American Conference and ranked second in the nation in tackles with 142. It was the eighth-best single-season tackle total in program history. He added 13.5 tackles for loss, five sacks and six forced fumbles. He finished his career by setting the NCAA record for career forced fumbles with 17.
Murdock is the sixth Bull to earn All-America honors in UB's FBS era. He is the fourth player to be named a Walter Camp All-American, joining Shaun Dolac (first team in 2024), Jaret Patterson (second team in 2020) and Khalil Mack (second team in 2013). He is the fifth player to be named an AP All-American, joining Dolac (first team in 2024), Marcus Fuqua (third team in 2022), Patterson (second team in 2020) and Mack (second team in 2013). He is the fifth player to be named a FWAA All-American, joining Dolac (first team in 2024), Patterson (second team in 2020), Kayode Awosika (second team in 2020) and Mack (first team in 2013).
Murdock was previously recognized as a National Scholar-Athlete by the National Football Foundation and was a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy. He has also been named to the AFCA Allstate Good Works Team and will be honored at the Sugar Bowl.
