Bulls Win Team Diving Event, As Franz Takes 1M Diving

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo swimming and diving team hosted day two of the UB Diving Invite on Saturday afternoon, with the eight programs competing in 1-meter and team diving. The 1-meter finals concluded with Victoria Franz earning her second first-place finish of the weekend, with a score of 302.40.
1-METER
Building off of Friday, the Bulls had quite the team performance in 1-meter diving on Saturday, with four of the top five finals spots being Buffalo divers in an event of 39 total divers. Following Franz's first place finish was Presley Dorsett in second (281.85), Marialis Kwak finishing third (279.35) and Mallory Hanna placing fifth (251.20). Kaylee Donovan (9th, 233.75) and Sophie Meuwissen (11th, 226.20) also qualified for the finals.
In the preliminary round of 1-meter diving, the Bulls had the top-five finishers, among the 39 divers that participated. Franz took first yet again, with a score of 301.20, followed by Meuwissen (2nd, 268.95), Kwak (3rd, 268.00), Dorsett (4th, 267.75) and Hanna (5th, 261.00). Donovan also finished 10th for the Bulls with a score of 237.75 and Maggie Meyers placed 13th with a score of 227.35.
Meuwissen set a new personal record for the second day in a row, with the freshman earning 268.95 points.
TEAM DIVING
The programs competed in team diving to close out the day, with the Bulls taking first place yet again with a score of 255.50.

Day three of the UB Diving Invite has been canceled due to the ongoing winter storm and Erie County travel ban that will be in affect for Sunday.
The Bulls are back in action next Saturday, January 20th, when they host Senior Day against the University of Ohio. The action begins at 11am.
