
Bulls Fall To RedHawks On The Road

OXFORD, OHIO – In their second meet of the regular season, the University at Buffalo swimming and diving team fell to the Miami RedHawks, 205-95.
THE POOL
Graduate student Clarice Fisher had a strong day in the pool for the Bulls. In the 100 yard butterfly, Fisher took first place with a time of 56.03, grabbing nine points for Buffalo. Fisher also placed second in the 200 yard butterfly (2:04.53) and placed third in the 200 yard individual medley (2:09.88).
Senior Marij van der Mast was another bright spot for the Bulls, with a second-place finish in the 500 yard freestyle (5:10.40) and a third place finish in the 200 yard freestyle (1:55.07).
The Bulls had six second place finishes in the pool, with the RedHawks taking first place in 13 of the 14 events.
THE DIVING WELL
The Bulls outscored the RedHawks 25-13 in the diving well, continuing Buffalo's diving domination.
In 1M-diving, the Bulls had seven of the eight top finishers, grabbing 16 of the 19 points available. Victoria Franz took first place in the event, with a score of 299.55, grabbing nine points for Buffalo. Presley Dorsett (287.55) and Marialis Kwak (273.23) followed, taking second and third consecutively, adding the remaining seven points the Bulls could score. Sophie Meuwissen (264.87), Kaylee Donovan (239.40), Mallory Hanna (239.25) and Maggie Meyers (232.58) rounded out the group of Buffalo divers, taking spots five through eight.
In 3M-diving, Miami of Ohio's Sydney Rice took nine first-place points for the RedHawks, but the Bulls followed with having the next six divers to place. Kwak (286.80) took second for Buffalo, with Franz (3rd, 270.0) and Dorsett (4th, 263.03) also adding points for the Bulls.

UP NEXT
The Bulls look to get back on track when they compete in the Princeton Invitational. The meet begins on December 1st at 10 am, continuing competitions throughout the weekend in the DeNunzio Pool.
