
Franz Qualifies for Two Events at NCAA Championships, Bulls Have Strong Showing at NCAA Diving Zones

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The 2022 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships completed day two on Tuesday afternoon at The U.S. Naval Academy where three Bulls competed for a chance to participate at the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, Ga. Day two of the three-day competition featured the 3-meter dive.
A total of 60 divers participated in the 3-meter dive on Tuesday afternoon.
Mid-American Conference Diver of the Year Victoria Franz continued where she left off yesterday afternoon. Franz ranked ninth headed to the finals with a 6-dive score of 282.70. She would go on and improve her final position as she'd finish third overall with a 12-dive score of 598.10. Franz now qualifies for the NCAA Championships in Atlanta for both the 1 and 3-meter dives.
Freshman Diver of the Year Marialis Kwak finished eighth in the finals with a 12-dive score of 583.25. Kwak was in 11th place headed into the finals as she had a 6-dive total of 272.25 points.
Senior Patricia Arceri finished 25th overall in the prelims with a total score of 247.90.
Each of the five zone meets will qualify a different number of divers for the NCAA Championship. Zone A has been allocated five divers in each of the women's events. Divers who qualify in one event and also place among the top-12 finishers in another will be able to compete at the NCAA Championship in the additional events.
Georgia Tech will play host to both national championship meets this spring. The women's meet will be held March 17-19 and the men's meet will be contested March 24-26.
