
Four Bulls Claim First Place at Journeyman Classic

MANHEIM, PA – The University at Buffalo wrestling team competed at the Journeyman Classic on Sunday and four Bulls took home first-place finishes. Tristan Daugherty (125), John Arceri (149), Noah Grover (165) and Toby Cahill (285) all went 3-0 and won their brackets.
Daugherty defeated Sean Faraan of Sacred Heart in the first round and then earned a 13-5 major over Ryan Chauvin (unattached) and a 3-1 decision over Beau Bayless (unattached).
Arceri opened with a 16-0 tech fall of Sacred Heart's David Tufankjian. He followed with a 7-4 decision over Craig Cook (unattached) and a 3-1 sudden victory over Mason Breece (unattached).
Grover made quick work of his first two opponents. He pinned Jake Stefanowicz of Penn in 1:11 and Clayton Fielden (unattached) in 1:15. He faced a familiar foe in the finals, beating teammate Jay Nivison, 3-2, in overtime.
Cahill had a 6-4 sudden victory over Lehigh's Victor Lacombe in his first match. He followed with an 11-5 decision over Isaac Dolph (unattached) and a 7-5 sudden victory over Isaiah Vance (unattached).
Other placers at the Journeyman included Nivison (2nd), Ben Freeman (3rd), Jake Lanning (3rd), Fabrio Preka (3rd), Sam Mitchell (3rd), Ty Raines (3rd), Marcus Petite (4th), Giuseppe Hoose (4th) and Tommy Maddox (5th).
The Bulls will be back in action next Sunday when they host Michigan.
