BUFFALO, NY – The final Associated Press and Amway Coaches Top 25 College Football Polls have been revealed and the University at Buffalo football team was ranked 25th in both. It marked the first time in program history the Bulls ended the season ranked in the Top 25.
Buffalo went 6-1 on the season, won the MAC East Division and won a bowl game for the second straight season. UB defeated Marshall, 17-10, in the 2020 Camellia Bowl. The Bulls were ranked as high as 23 by the AP this year. It is the first time they have ever been ranked in the Amway Coaches Poll.
"It's a tremendous accomplishment to finish the season ranked in the Top 25 for the first time in program history," head coach Lance Leipold said. "I'm proud of our players and staff for the work they put in and preserving through this atypical year. I look forward to building on this as we turn the page to next season."
Buffalo finished the 2020 season ranked fifth in the nation in scoring offense (43.4) and second in the nation in rushing offense (287.4).
UB has been one of the most consistent teams in the Mid-American Conference over the last four seasons. The Bulls' 30 wins are the most of any team in the MAC over that span.
The 2021 season kicks off on September 4 against Wagner at UB Stadium.
