Bulls Name Captains for 2020 Season

BUFFALO, NY – Following a team vote, the University at Buffalo football team named its captains for the 2020 season. Kayode Awosika, Jake Molinich, James Patterson, Jaret Patterson and Taylor Riggins will serve as team captains for the upcoming season.
Awosika is a captain for the second straight season. The senior offensive lineman is beginning his third season as a starter for the Bulls. He has moved to left tackle this season after starting the previous two seasons at right tackle.
Molinich was named a team captain for the first time. A former walk on, the senior tight end has evolved to play an integral role in the offense as a blocking tight end. He started all 13 games last season and helped block for a school-record rushing offense.
James Patterson is a captain for the second straight season. He is entering his third year as the Bulls' starting linebacker. Patterson has 117 tackles and 15.5 tackles for loss over his career.
Like his brother, James, Jaret Patterson has also been elected captain for a second time. The All-MAC running back rushed for a school-record 1,799 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2019.
Riggins is a first-time team captain. An All-MAC First Team selection in 2019, Riggins had 50 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks on the year.
The 2020 season kicks off at Northern Illinois on Wednesday night.
