Sophomore Nisa Raqib stampeded her way to a first place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 12.77 meters. This score also stampeded to the top of the UB all-time records list as she has now topped a 16 year record of 12.75 meters held by Biaunca McFarland (2003). Raqib has also qualified for the MAC Championships in the first meet of the season. She also ranks second in the MAC and third in the NCAA with this distance. |

Derek Spann was 2-0 over the weekend, winning both of his matches by technical fall. On Friday, Spann defeated Cleveland State's Justin Patrick 21-2. A takedown and four-point nearfall late in the first period set the tone. He added a four-point nearfall in both the second and third period to cruise to the victory. On Sunday, Spann used a 19-4 tech fall over West Virginia's Lucas Seibert for his sixth straight dual win. A four-point nearfall in the first period followed by a four-point nearfall and two-point nearfall in the second period help him pull away for the victory. |
