BUFFALO, NY – The entire University at Buffalo men's coaching staff now holds their NSCAA Premier coaching diplomas after assistant coaches Davie Carmichael and Matt Brown both obtained their diplomas this summer. Buffalo head coach Stu Riddle has held his premier coaching diploma since 2012.
"My staff and I have always placed very high value on coaching education and I'd like to congratulate both Davie and Matt on obtaining their NSCAA Premier Diplomas this past summer," stated fourth-year head coach Stu Riddle.
Riddle enters his fourth-year at the helm of the Bulls and led his team to a MAC Championship match appearance last season, just the second in program history. Last year, Riddle was named as a mentor for the NSCAA 30-Under-30 program. The 30-Under-30 program is a year-long education and mentorship opportunity for a select few up-and-comers who have made soccer coaching their career of choice. This program was created to support fledgling coaches and foster their growth at a crucial point in their vocation.
Carmichael enters his second season as assistant coach for the Bulls after spending four successful seasons as head coach at Lake Erie College. He completed his NSCAA Premier Diploma at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA earlier this summer.
Brown is entering his first season on Riddle's staff as assistant coach and he will be working with the Buffalo goalkeepers. Brown comes to Buffalo after three seasons as head coach at Bournemouth & Poole College in England. The England native completed his NSCAA Premier Diploma this summer as well.
"I think it shows a great commitment to fulfilling our obligations as mentors and educators to our student athletes and I am very proud that we have three members of staff with this high qualification," stated Riddle.
