
2016 Men's Soccer Schedule Released

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo men's soccer head coach Stu Riddle announced the Bulls 2016 schedule on Tuesday afternoon, highlighted by seven matches at UB Stadium this fall.
"Naturally we are looking forward to the regular season and the schedule plays a large part in that excitement," stated head coach Stu Riddle. "When you have good division I programs traveling to UB Stadium from Texas and Oklahoma, it shows how our reputation as a program has grown over the years. Our road schedule is particularly challenging with local rivals, MAC foes and nationally ranked teams amongst them, but this team is ready for these challenges."
The Bulls open up their 2016 campaign with three of their first four matches in the friendly confines of UB Stadium. UB opens the season against local foe Daemen College on Friday, August 26 at 7:00 pm. After a trip to local rival Canisius on Sunday, August 28 at 7:00 pm the Bulls will return home the following weekend to host Stony Brook on Friday, September 2 at 10:00 am followed by their first ever meeting with Incarnate Word on Sunday, September 4 at 11:00 am.
UB will hit the road for a four-game road trip starting on Friday, September 9 as they head to VMI to take on the Keydets at 7:00 pm before traveling to Liberty on Sunday, September 11 for a 1:00 pm match. The Bulls will then return to Western New York on Thursday, September 15 for a match against the Niagara Purple Eagles at 7:00 pm before traveling down to the sunshine state to take on South Florida on Sunday, September 18 at 1:00 pm.
Buffalo will then have three non-conference matches before opening Mid-American Conference action as they will host St. Bonaventure on Wednesday, September 21 at 7:00 pm. The Bulls will then head to Binghamton on Saturday, September 24 at 7:00 pm and Duquesne on Saturday, October 1 at 7:00 pm.
MAC play will begin with a pair of tough road matches as the Bulls will open conference play on Friday, October 7 at defending MAC champs and nationally-ranked Akron at 7:30 pm. The following Saturday, the Bulls will travel to Morgantown, WV to clash with the West Virginia Mountaineers at 7:00 pm.
The Bulls will then return to UB Stadium for a pair of MAC matches starting on Friday, October 21 as they welcome the Western Michigan Broncos to Buffalo for a 7:00 pm start. A week later, UB will host Northern Illinois at 7:00 pm before closing out their non-conference slate with a meeting with Oral Roberts at UB Stadium on Sunday, October 30 at 1:00 pm.
UB will conclude their 2016 regular season with a road MAC match against the Bowling Green Falcons on Saturday, November 5 at 7:00 pm.
With a roster loaded with talent, including 2015 MAC Player of the Year Russell Cicerone, the Bulls will be poised to make a run at a conference title and first-ever NCAA Tournament berth. UB returns 10 starters and 93% of their scoring from their 2015 squad that made a MAC Finals appearance for just the second time in program history.
