BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo men's soccer head coach Stu Riddle announced the Bulls 2016 Spring Schedule on Monday afternoon. The schedule is comprised of six home matches, one road match and an Alumni game.
"I feel as if we have a good balance in the eight matches we will play this spring," stated head coach Stu Riddle. "The aim is to get a good look at all of our squad and continue to look at combinations as we prepare for the fall season."
The Bulls open up their spring slate on Friday, March 4 as they welcome the professional side Rochester Rhinos to UB Stadium for a 7:00 pm start. The Rhinos play in the USL (United Soccer League) and they will provide the Bulls with a great challenge to open their spring season.
UB will then welcome division II opponent Lake Erie to Buffalo on March 25 at 7:00 pm before hosting division II Gannon University on April 2 at 1:00 pm.
One of the most unique games on the Bulls upcoming spring schedule is their game on April 8 against the University of Waikato. The University of Waikato resides in New Zealand as they will be making a Tour of the US and playing in several games. The game against the New Zealand University will provide the Bulls to showcase their talent against some international players.
"The opportunity to host the 2015 USL champions and top New Zealand University side Waikato is very exciting and I hope that the WNY soccer community comes out to support the Bulls."
The Bulls will then host Olivet College and Genesee Community College in a pair of matches on April 16. The Bulls will take on Eagles at 1:00 pm at UB Stadium before taking on GCC at 3:30 pm. Buffalo will wrap up their spring schedule with a road match against the University of Rochester at 7:00 pm on April 23.
On April 30, the Bulls will wrap up their spring schedule by hosting their annual Alumni Game which will take place at UB Stadium starting at 7:00 pm.
