BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York men's soccer team (4-4-3, 0-0-0 MAC) collected a very impressive 2-0 victory over Cornell on Sunday evening at UB Stadium. Joseph Kuta earned his first cleansheet as a Bull and Braden Scales and Russell Cicerone netted the UB goals as Buffalo was able to get some revenge for the 5-0 loss at Cornell a season ago.

- The Short Story: The Bulls were able to get some revenge on the Cornell Big Red on Sunday as they downed them 2-0 in front of the home fans. The UB defense had their most solid effort of the season as they didn't allow a shot on goal as Joseph Kuta earned his first career cleansheet as a Bull.

How It Happened
- Cornell was able to get the first scoring chance of the game in the ninth minute as Duff Bedrosian saw his shot go over the cross bar and out of play.
- In the 14th minute, Vincent Brunetti had a hard shot that went just over the top of the net, keeping the score knotted, 0-0.
- UB was able to break through with their first goal of the match in the 15th minute as Daniel Cramarossa sent a great ball into the box where Scott Doney had a quick touch to Braden Scales who buried it in the right corner of the net for his second marker of the season.
- After some back-and-forth play down the stretch in the first half, UB almost had their second goal of the night as Russell Cicerone sent a corner into the box where Scott Doney headed the ball just wide of the net as the time wore off the clock.
- The Bulls came out strong in the second half as they were looking for a goal to put the game out of reach. In the 63rd minute, Russell Cicerone made a great run down the left sideline and crossed a good ball into the box where Braden Scales saw his attempt blocked by the Cornell defense and out of harm's way.
- In the 65th minute, the Big Red had their best chance to tie the game up but Zach Bialik's attempts from in close went wide left of the goal because of great positioning by Joseph Kuta.
- The Bulls were able to put the game away in the 79th minute as Scott Doney flicked a great ball to Braden Culver who toed the ball over to a wide open Russell Cicerone who calmly buried the ball in the upper left corner of the net for the goal. The goal was Cicerone's team-leading sixth of the season.
- With the 2-0 lead, the UB defense did the rest as the backline of Fox Slotemaker, Nick Forrester, Daniel Cramarossa and Alec Fisher didn't allow the Big Red to record a shot on goal for the match.

- With the win, the Bulls improve to 4-1-1 at home this season, matching the record they posted at UB Stadium a season ago.
- The Bulls have now scored two goals or more in five of their six home matches. The lone game they didn't reach the two-goal plateau, the Bulls lost to Lafayette, 2-1.
- Tonight's victory over Cornell marked the first time all season that the Bulls defense didn't allow a single shot on goal.
- Junior Russell Cicerone moved into a tie with Andrae Clarke for fifth place on the all-time goals list with 22 career markers. Cicerone also moved into ninth place on the all-time points list with 52 career points in the blue and white.
- With his first half goal, Braden Scales now has a career-high two goals on the season. Scales' goal on Sunday was also his first career game-winning goal.
