
Grassman Named MAC East Special Teams Player of the Week

BUFFALO, NY – For the second straight week, University at Buffalo, the State University of New York punter Tyler Grassman was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Grassman averaged 40.6 yards on eight punts in Buffalo's 18-17 win at Kent State on Thursday night. The senior punter had six of his eight punts downed inside the 20-yard line. Grassman also handled kickoff duties and all four of his kickoffs went for touchbacks.
It is the third time this season Grassman has earned the award. He was also named MAC East Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 21 following UB's win at Flordia Atlantic and again last week after the Bulls beat Miami (OH).
Grassman is averaging a career-best 41.8 yards on 49 punts this season. He has had 18 punts downed inside the 20-yard line and 10 punts travel 50 yards or more. The Columbus, OH native has also recorded 23 touchbacks on 51 kickoffs (45%).
Grassman and the Bulls host Northern Illinois on Wednesday night at UB Stadium.
