
Russell Cicerone Named MAC Co-Player Of The Week

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo, The State University of New York men's soccer junior Russell Cicerone was named Mid-American Conference Co-Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts in the Bulls 6-0 victory over St. Bonaventure.
Cicerone had the best game of his career on Saturday night as he finished with a career-high seven points, two goals and a career-high three assists, in the 6-0 win over St. Bonaventure to retain the Big 4 Shield for the Bulls. The three assists are the second most in a single game in program history while the seven points is tied for sixth place for a single game. The Michigan native recorded six shots, four on goal, while also burying his second penalty kick goal of the season. He has led the Bulls to a four match unbeaten streak while notching at least a goal and two points in all four matches.
For the season, Cicerone ranks fourth in the nation in points (22) and assists (six) while ranking sixth in goals (eight). The talented junior forward continues to move up the all-time scoring charts at UB as he currently ranks fifth in goals (24) and sixth in points (59) for his career.
This marks the first time this season a UB player has been named MAC Player of the Week. Cicerone has now earned the accolade twice in his career.
