
Men's Soccer Earns Gritty Road Draw At Northern Illinois, 1-1

DEKALB, IL - The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York men's soccer team (6-5-4, 1-1-1 MAC) continued their solid play on Saturday night as they traveled to Northern Illinois and earned a 1-1 road draw against the Huskies. Daniel Cramarossa netted the game-tying goal for the Bulls in the 53rd minute, his second goal in four games for the Bulls.

How It Happened
- Joseph Kuta was forced to make a save just two minutes in as Bertrand Gaschot took a blast that was denied.
- The Huskies were able to get on the board first in the 16th minute as Kevin Rodriguez took a great cross from Bertrand Gaschot and he buried the ball into the right corner of the net.
- In the 20th minute, Joseph Kuta was forced to make a save on a header attempt from Nixon Urrutia.
- In the 36th minute, the Bulls had a flurry of chances to tie the game but Marcus Hanson had his shot blocked and Russell Cicerone just missed the goal to the left.
- Off a corner kick in the 42nd minute, Daniel Cramarossa gathered a Russell Cicerone volley and his shot missed just left.
- Fox Slotemaker had the Bulls last chance of the first half but his header off Cicerone's corner kick went wide right.
- The Bulls offense got on track early in the second half as Scott Doney had his header saved by the Huskies keeper just two minutes into the half.
- Just six minutes later UB was able to get the equalizing goal as Daniel Cramarossa netted his second of the season off a great feed from Russell Cicerone.
- In the 67th minute, Richard Hall had a chance to give NIU the lead but Joseph Kuta stood tall and made the save for the Bulls.
- Down the stretch of the second half, the Bulls held NIU to two shots while UB was held without a shot.
- Marcus Hanson was able to get UB's first shot of the overtime period in the 93rd minute but his attempt was blocked.
- In the 98th minute, Scott Doney saw his header attempt just miss the goal to the left.
- The Bulls had the best chance of the early going in overtime two as Russell Cicerone sent a corner kick into the box where Nick Forrester had a hard shot that was saved by the Huskies keeper.
- The Huskies had the final shot of the game in the 105th minute as Adrian Coardos ripped a shot over the net.

- With his assist, junior Russell Cicerone now has a career-high eight assists on the season and ranks third in program history for assists in a season.
