
Swimming and Diving Swept at Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, MI – The University at Buffalo, the State University of New York men's and women's swimming and diving teams were swept at Eastern Michigan on Saturday. The men lost to the Eagles, 187-111, while the women were downed 181-117.
Jessica Powers and Megan Burns paced the women by each winning two individual events and a relay.
Powers won the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:16.69. Hannah Miller took second with a time of 10:23.57. Powers also won the 500 freestyle in 4:59.05.
Like she has done all season, Burns won both the 50 and 100 freestyles. The freshman from Rochester, NY swam a 23.51 to win the 50 free and a 50.42 to take the 100 free.
Powers and Burns joined Taylor Steffl and Eve Kosten to win the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:27.56.
Spencer Rodriguez was also victorious on the women's side as she won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:06.87.
Freshman Itai De La Vega paced the men's team with an individual win and a relay victory. De La Vega won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 55.94. He also joined Hudson Carroll, Oliver Patrouch and Antonio Lanzi to win the 200 medley relay.
Scott Huang continued his strong season as he won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:01.98.
The Bulls will return home for a meet against St. Bonaventure on Friday at 5 pm at the Alumni Arena Natatorium.
