Former Soccer Standout Named School of Management Alumnus of the Year

BUFFALO, NY - A distinguished graduate of the Buffalo School of Management and proud supporter of UB athletics, former men's soccer student-athlete Brian McCallion, '01, CPA, CFA, will be honored as the school's Alumnus of the Year.
As a four-year member of the men's soccer team, the Ballston Lake, NY native finished his career with 16 goals, 17 assists and 49 points. His assist total ranks second in the UB record book while his point total is tenth best. He hit the ground running as a freshman with the team, leading all players in assists in his first season.
Former coach John Astudillo, who coached him for his four seasons on the team, described McCallion as an outstanding player who gave his all to the team and the school, and who's drive to excel was wonderful to watch and see grow.
"He is perhaps one of my top five great players I had the privilege of coaching," Astudillo said. "Brian is a deserving individual."
Today, McCallion is a vice president in the Controllers Department within the Finance Division at Goldman Sachs, managing the Investment Management Division product control team for the firm's Salt Lake City office. McCallion lives in Park City, Utah, with his wife and two children.
