
Anthone Taylor Named MAC East Offensive Player of the Week

BUFFALO, NY – State University of New York, Buffalo running back Anthone Taylor was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, the conference announced.
Taylor rushed for a career-best 237 yards and added two touchdowns in a 41-21 win over UMass. He carried the ball 36 times for a 6.6 yards per carry average. It was Taylor's third 200-yard game of the season – the most ever by a UB player in a single season. The junior running back also had three receptions for 31 yards. Taylor scored UB's final two touchdowns of the game to seal the victory. He had a three-yard run late in the third quarter and a career-long 76-yard TD run in the fourth quarter. His 237 yards was the fourth-best single-game total in school history.
Taylor finished the season with 1,403 rushing yards – second in school history for a single season. Only all-time leading rusher Branden Oliver had a better year with 1,535 yards in 2013. Taylor added 12 rushing touchdowns - sixth in school history for a single season.
Taylor joins Joe Licata (Sept. 8) and Adam Redden (Oct. 27) who also won the award this season.
