
Tyler Grassman Named to Capital One Academic All-District Team

BUFFALO, NY – State University of New York, Buffalo punter Tyler Grassman was named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District Football Team on Thursday. Selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, Grassman was recognized as one of the nation's top student-athletes for his combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
A business administration major with a 3.80 grade point average, Grassman has been having a standout season for the Bulls. He is averaging a career-best 40.4 yards per punt and has had 16 punts downed inside the 20-yard line. The most impressive aspect of Grassman's punting is that of his 45 punts on the season, opponents have gained only 32 total return yards.
The Columbus, OH native will now advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
Grassman is the first UB player since Colby Way in 2011 to be named to the Academic All-District Team.
