Miscues Costly in Loss to Ohio

ATHENS, OH – The State University of New York, Buffalo football team lost to Ohio, 37-14, at Peden Stadium on a rainy Wednesday night. Miscues cost the Bulls as they turned the ball over four times and botched the snap of a punt that led to 21 of the Bobcats' points.
The Bulls (3-6, 1-4 MAC) seemed out of sync all night. UB could only muster 134 yards of total offense, including just 28 on the ground. Quarterback Joe Licata was held to just 74 yards passing. He did throw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Ron Willoughby for UB's first score and in doing so tied the school record for career touchdown passes with 52.
The UB defense played well despite dealing with sudden turnovers deep in its own territory. Lee Skinner had a game-high 13 tackles and passed former All-American Khalil Mack for seventh in school history with 329 career tackles.
Okezie Alozie had six tackles, including two for loss. He had a sack and forced a fumble that set up the Bulls' first touchdown. The defense scored UB's second touchdown when Brandon Berry forced a fumble that was scooped up by Boise Ross who then raced 75 yards for a touchdown.
Also in the game, Devin Campbell moved in third in school history in career kick return yardage with 1,445, passing Naaman Roosevelt.
The Bulls will have a short week as they play host to Akron on Tuesday night at UB Stadium.
