
Adam Redden Named MAC East Division Defensive Player of the Week

BUFFALO, NY – State University of New York, Buffalo senior safety Adam Redden was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after his standout performance against Central Michigan on Saturday.
Redden had 10 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery against the Chippewas. He had two of the Bulls' season-high five sacks in the game. On his first sack, he was able to force a fumble and recover it. The Bulls capitalized by scoring a touchdown and cutting the CMU lead to 14-7 before the half.
An All-MAC Third Team selection a year ago, Redden is well on his way to earning All-MAC honors again this year. He leads the conference in tackles for loss with 12 and ranks second in the league with three forced fumbles. He has 55 tackles and a team-high five sacks on the season.
Redden is the second UB player to win MAC Player of the Week honors this season. Joe Licata also won the award after throwing for 401 yards and five touchdowns against Army on Sept. 6.
