
UB to Partner with Susan G. Komen for Saturday's Football Game

BUFFALO, NY – With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the State University of New York, Buffalo Athletics Department is teaming up with Susan G. Komen Western New York in an effort to help raise awareness of the disease.
"Susan G. Komen Western New York funds local breast-health programs and research for the cures, and we're proud to join UB Athletics in bringing awareness about breast cancer to Bulls fans, and all Western New Yorkers," said Liz Kahn, Executive Director of Susan G. Komen WNY. "Together, we are a winning team!"
Serving as honorary captains for Saturday's football game against Central Michigan will be Gerald Glose and Janet Owczarczak, two breast cancer survivors from Western New York.
"Breast Cancer is a disease that affects us all," UB Director of Athletics Danny White said. "We are proud to team with a great organization like Susan G. Komen Western New York and do our part to raise awareness and support a worthy cause."
The Bulls and Chippewas will kick off on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 pm at UB Stadium. A free concert by the Zac Brown Tribute Band starts 1:30 pm in Stampede Square. Tickets are available by clicking here or call the UB ticket office at 1-800-UB-THERE.
