LOUNDONVILLE, NY – The host Siena Saints broke a scoreless tie in the 86th minute as they defeated the University at Buffalo men's soccer team, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at the Siena Turf Field. The loss drops UB to 0-3-1 on the year.
Siena outshot the Bulls, 14-4, and UB's best chance in the match came in the 34th minute as Nicolai Berry ripped a shot on goal, which was stopped by the Siena goalkeeper. UB's net minder Waleed Cassis had two saves on the afternoon, one in each half.
Siena's goal came late in the second half as a ball was headed into the box and then shot into the back of the net in traffic by James Beeston.
The Bulls will return home this week for just the second time all season as they host Big Four rival Canisius on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm.
