Kuras, Morrell Earn NCAA Women's Swim Invites

BUFFALO, NY –University at Buffalo women's swimmers Brittney Kuras and Mallory Morrell have earned invitations to the 2013 NCAA National Women's Swimming and Diving Championships to be held in Indianapolis March 21-13.
Kuras will be making her second appearance at the national finals after competing in last season's meet in Auburn, AL. She has qualified for the 100- and 200-yard freestyles as well as the 200-yard individual medley. Kuras set her best times of the season in all three events at the Mid-American Conference Championships to earn the invites. She lowered her school records in the 100-yard freestyle (48.89) and 200-yard individual medley (1:58.17), winning both events and she won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:47.83 as she earned the league's Outstanding Swimmer award for the second straight year.
Morrell will be making her first appearance at the national meet. She qualified in the 50-yard freestyle as she broke her UB record and set MAC and MAC meet records with her 22.24 finish. She has also qualified for the 100-yard freestyle.
Competition is slated for March 21-23 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis. The men's championship meet is scheduled for the following weekend also in Indianapolis.
