
Second Day of Zone Diving Championships Completed

CHRISTIANSBURG, VA – The second day of the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships came to a conclusion Saturday afternoon with University at Buffalo divers reaching the final rounds.
In the women's one-meter event, Ava Giachino finished 13th and Rachel Eckert placed 14th overall among 43 entrants. Giachino finished with a two-round total score of 463.50. Eckert scored 462.00 points for her preliminary and championship rounds. Virginia Tech's Kaylea Arnett, Friday's three-meter champion, won Saturday's one-meter competition with 606.35 points.
In the men's three-meter event, Shawn Hoffman finished 10th with a two-round total of 631.30 points. Hoffman was 15th after the preliminary round, which consisted of 42 divers, but his 338.50 championship round total moved him up in the final standings. Logan Shinholser of Virginia Tech also won for the second day in a row after claiming the one-meter title on Friday.
Platform diving concludes the three-day meet on Sunday.
