BUFFALO, NY – The national honors continue for University at Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack as he has been invited to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl. Mack joins Gerry Philbin (1964) as just the second UB player to earn an invitation to the prestigious game.
The Senior Bowl is college football's premier senior showcase event. It annually features the country's best senior collegiate football players and top NFL draft prospects on teams representing the North and South that are coached by the entire coaching staffs of two National Football League teams.
"This is a special honor for Khalil, his teammates and our football program," head coach Jeff Quinn said. "Khalil is a high-achieving person in his personal life, as a football player and as a student and I couldn't be more proud of him."
Mack leads Buffalo with 59 tackles (34 solo), 11.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks and three interceptions. He leads the Mid-American Conference in tackles for loss and sacks. He currently ranks third in NCAA history with 67.5 career tackles for loss and his 13 career forced fumbles is one shy of the NCAA record.
The Reese's Senior Bowl will be played on January 25, 2014 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, AL.
