
Khalil Mack Named MAC East Division Defensive Player of the Week

BUFFALO, NY – Khalil Mack was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after another standout performance in Buffalo's 44-7 win over Miami (OH). It is the third time this season the senior linebacker has earned the award.
Mack had a team-high eight tackles, three sacks and three forced fumbles against the RedHawks. Two of his forced fumbles were recovered by the Bulls and both were turned into touchdowns. His third forced fumble was scooped up by teammate Okoye Houston and returned 60 yards for a touchdown. In the game, Mack broke the NCAA record for career forced fumbles with 16, surpassing the previous record of 14.
For the season, Mack leads the Bulls with 82 tackles, 16.5 for loss. 10.5 sacks, three interceptions and five forced fumbles. He is the NCAA career record holder for forced fumbles and 2.5 tackles for loss shy of the NCAA career tackles for loss record as well.
It is the ninth straight week and 10th overall that a UB player has won the award.
