Mack, Means and Neutz Earn All-MAC Honors

BUFFALO, NY – Three University at Buffalo football players were named to the All-Mid-American Conference Football Team on Wednesday. Khalil Mack was named to the first team while Steven Means and Alex Neutz each earned second-team honors.
It is the second straight year Mack has been named to the first team. The junior linebacker joins Naaman Roosevelt and Davonte Shannon as just the third UB player to be a multiple first-team selection. Mack led the Bulls in tackles with 94. He led the MAC in tackles for loss with 21 and ranked fifth in the conference with eight sacks. He also ranked second in the MAC with four forced fumbles. Only a junior, Mack already holds the school record for career tackles for loss (55) and forced fumbles in a career (11).
Means, named All-MAC for the first time, had the best season of his career in 2012. The senior defensive end had 77 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and three blocked kicks – all career highs. The Buffalo native ranked eighth in the MAC in sacks and sixth in tackles for loss.
Like Means, Neutz is also a first-time All-MAC honoree. The Grand Island native tied for the MAC lead with 11 receiving touchdowns, ranked second in the MAC in receiving yards per game (92.3) and ranked seventh in the conference in receptions per game (5.9). With 1,015 yards in 2012, Neutz became just the third player in school history to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in a single season – joining Roosevelt and Drew Haddad.
